As I get older, it seems that there is a lot more time to think of the things that have happened in the past and I wonder "How did I get to this point?" My husband and I have been married 43 years, we had four children, two boys and two girls. Life wasn't always easy for us since there were more times that there just wasn't enough money than that there were times of plenty. Our daughter was born with a seizure disorder and, as others know who have a difficulty to deal with, that it affects the whole family. We have been blessed because of this difficulty, her brothers and sister have learned a sensitivity toward people that I don't think I could have taught them. Isn't it interesting how things happen in life and a problem becomes a blessing. Our daughter is still struggling with seizures but we see that she is still a happy person who just happens to have her memory wiped out occasionally.
Three years ago our son was tragically removed from our presence due to an automobile accident and I think that has been the hardest thing a mother can deal with. Then just a couple of months ago, our other son saved his fathers life by donating a kidney to him. The kidney transplant took place March 26, 2007 and the followup has been fantastic.
I think that if we just spend our time thinking about how bad we have it, we have to look at how good we have it and how great our God really is in that he has given us a promise that he will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). God is so good and each day we see new ways that he takes care of us.
While there are many things going through our minds during all these issues, the one main thing is the lack of cash as we go from appointment to appointment.
